Description

The trunks have an average height of 18-30 m, maximum 45 m. The straight, branchless log is up to 15 m long, with a diameter of 1.2-1.8 m. The oak can reach a very high age (400 years).

Oak has a yellow-brown colour. The structure and quality vary depending on the growing conditions. In rustic oak veneer, many more natural characteristics are allowed: small light and dark knots, open knots, mirror, acorns and cracks. For a light rustic, the characteristics will be less pronounced than for a medium to heavy rustic veneer.

The sapwood of oak is white in colour and can be easily distinguished.

In general, however, oak is easily machined, turned and milled, both by machine and by hand.

Oak has many applications: interior and exterior joinery, beams, luxury furniture (oak cabinetry), stairs, parquet flooring and many more.
