Description

Maple has a cream to light ochre coloured heartwood with a beautiful pinkish sheen.

If the log is sliced on quarter, the maple has fine stripe marks. If sliced in crowns: a slight flame pattern.

The wood absorbs well. Lacquering and staining are no problem. Only polyester lacquer slows down the drying process somewhat.

Maple is used for many applications: veneer, interior joinery (parquet, doors and stairs), furniture, gym equipment, inner layer for tennis rackets, sports floors, pressure rollers, turned products and sculptures.
