Description

The trees have a height of 27-37 m, maximum 50 m. The log has a diameter of 0.7-1.4 m, is straight and cylindrical with a length of 15-20 m.

The pale yellow to yellow-brown heartwood is not clearly distinguishable from the pale yellow, sometimes grey-yellow, 20-30 mm wide sapwood. Some trunks have beautiful markings. In the wooden vessels there is often a yellowish substance which can be detached in wet conditions. Movingui sometimes has so-called wind cracks (cracks at right angles to the grain direction).

Movingui can be processed reasonably well. During sawing, the dulling effect of the ingredients often causes problems.

Movingui has many applications: furniture, veneer, turned articles, parquet flooring, wagon and body construction, tanks for the chemical industry, but also, because of its softness, for skis, construction timber, beam frames, windows and sculpture.
