Description

The mostly straight branch-free log without rootlets is 18-21 m long and 0.4-0.6 m in diameter, sometimes up to 1.2 m in diameter.

The brown to dark brown, sometimes brownish-reddish heartwood with fine lighter streaks stands out clearly against the narrow grayish-white to yellowish sapwood. The color becomes somewhat lighter as it dries and is exposed to light and air.

Applications include interior and exterior paneling, furniture, stairs, (parquet) flooring, shipbuilding, bodywork, carving, turnery, sculpture, etc.
