Description

Sycamore or European maple is a beautiful white to cream colored wood that turns light yellow when exposed to daylight.
Special varnishes and/or bleaching agents are used to counteract this discoloration. In general, the wood has a regular structure. Due to a fairly sharp delineation of the growth rings, a fine stripe pattern can usually be seen on the quarter face and a modest flame pattern on the flat face.

Sycamore is easy to work, both by hand and by machine.
