Description

Sycamore is a beautiful white to creamy wood that turns light yellow when exposed to daylight. To counteract this discoloration, special varnishes and/or bleaching agents are used. In general, the wood has a regular structure.
Due to a fairly clear demarcation of the growth rings, a fine stripe pattern can usually be seen on the quartered plane and a modest flame pattern on the flat plane.

Typical characteristics of Sycamore fiddle back are "cross streaks" in the veneer.
